Qualified Electrician


FUNCTION:

The purpose of this role is to undertake electrical contracting and renewable energy works on both a domestic and commercial basis.

Jobs will be carried out primarily as part of a team and on occasion working alone, but all works must be completed to current regulations, in a professional and efficient manner

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Electrical installations, ranging from small to large scale works on domestic and commercial basis.

  • Test and inspect existing installations.

  • Provide effective diagnosis and solutions.

  • Complete all relevant documentation on site to ensure installations are compliant.

  • The installation of heating control systems and home automation.

  • Research new technologies.

  • Undertake other duties to ensure the smooth running of a site as reasonably requested by your line Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

  • City and Guilds 2382 18th edition Electrical installation engineering

  • CSCS card

  • Current drivers licence

  • City & Guilds 2394

  • City & Guilds 2395

  • EAL Inspection and Testing and Initial Verification qualifications1

  • Level 3 Electrical Installations Diploma2

  • Level 3 NVQ Electrical2

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Requirements for Electrical Installations2

  • Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2) Assessment

Desirable / relevant but not essential

  • Knowledge of MCS and HETAS rules

  • City and Guilds 2391 certificate in inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations

  • Awareness of renewable technologies

  • First Aid at Work

  • Understanding BEMS (Building Energy Management Systems)

  • Data networks

  • IPAF Licence

EXPERIENCE

  • Working in domestic or commercial field

  • Good working knowledge of current electrical standards and regulations

  • Wiring heating controls for heating systems and home automation
