East Green Energy named finalist in East Anglian Daily Times Business Awards 2026

We are pleased to announce that East Green Energy has been named a finalist in the prestigious East Anglian Daily Times Business Awards 2026, having been shortlisted in the highly competitive Growth Business of the Year category.

The East Anglian Daily Times Business Awards celebrate the innovators, employers and business leaders helping to drive Suffolk's economy forward and make a lasting contribution to the region. Being recognised among such a strong field of businesses is a significant achievement and reflects the continued growth of our company over recent years.

Founded almost 20 years ago in Melton, Suffolk, East Green Energy has grown from its local roots into one of the UK's leading renewable energy specialists. As demand for renewable energy solutions continues to rise, we have expanded rapidly, helping homeowners and businesses across the country reduce their energy costs and environmental impact through technologies including solar PV, battery storage, heat pumps and EV charging.

While our business has evolved significantly over the years, we remain proudly family-run. Our story began long before East Green Energy was established, with generations of our family working within Suffolk's farming community as pig farmers. Those values of hard work, trust and commitment continue to shape everything we do today.

Our growth has been driven by a focus on delivering expert advice, high-quality installations and exceptional customer service. These principles have helped us build lasting relationships with customers and establish a strong reputation within the renewable energy sector.

Commenting on the announcement, Managing Director Robbie Gawthrop said:

"To be recognised as a finalist in the Growth Business of the Year category is a fantastic achievement for the whole team. We have worked incredibly hard to build a business that not only delivers for our customers but also creates opportunities for our people and supports the communities around us. As a family business with deep roots in Suffolk, it is particularly rewarding to receive recognition from an award that celebrates the very best of our region's business community."

He added:

"The renewable energy sector has changed significantly over the past two decades, and we are proud to have grown alongside it. Our success is built on the trust our customers place in us, the dedication of our team and a commitment to doing things the right way."

The winners of the East Anglian Daily Times Business Awards 2026 will be announced at the awards ceremony later this summer, and we look forward to celebrating alongside many of Suffolk's outstanding businesses.
