Who we are
We’re based at East Green Farm, just outside Saxmundham. The name is not just some marketing
gimmick - it’s genuine. Just like our directors’ interest in safeguarding the environment and
making properties more energy efficient.
You could say, we saw the light about six years ago..., when East Green’s Technical Director, Robbie
Gawthorp -then running a building, maintenance and plumbing business first researched solar thermal hot
water systems and solar photovoltaic electricity generation to include within a client¹s eco-house project.
In addition, he began to specialize in heat pumps, rainwater harvesting and other green energy initiatives
Sales Director, Linda Grave has always been switched on to renewable energy. She joined East Green
Energy shortly after they installed a solar thermal system at her home, introducing her to significant reductions
in energy costs. She comes from a banking background.
Over the years , we have developed and retained our highly skilled workforce and pride
ourselves that, only on rarest occasions, do we support the team with sub-contracted staff.
In 2008, East Green Energy was winner of the Suffolk "Greenest Business Award 2008"
for outstanding commitment to sustainable design in buildings.
